A Great Interval Run

Had a great interval run this morning! I’ve discovered that I do better when I eat before my morning runs, so I woke up in time to have two slices of toast an hour before I started running. Too much by conventional wisdom, but when I get hungry on a run I feel so defeated!

My mother in law watched the boys this morning – I love that they have this time with their Nana without me. There’s something special about that alone time without parents there, to be taken care of and focused on another family member without distraction or interference.

I took a picture of them running for her this morning when they arrived – they couldn’t wait to get to her! She even brought ingredients to cook a special snack with them. I will miss this when we go home from Maine… But I’m so grateful to be here now and have this wonderful time near family.

I did my 6 repeats of 800 meters and met my time goals and never once stopped my watch or took extra recovery time! Feeling awesome, but I know the real test is my tempo run on Weds since those are hardest for me. And making it through a long run Friday AFTER these two workouts. My legs feel like (vegan?) jello right now… But I’m ridiculously happy.
