Looking back

I took this photo in November of 2013, two years ago.

Looking through the photos I uploaded to the blog that November, so little has changed.

There are photos of Will and Andrew enjoying the outdoors.

And a great photo compiling running advice I received after doing a reader poll:

It’s odd to be in such a similar place two years later. Same race. Same struggle to get through the daily tasks and get the kids outside for some fun together. Same appreciation for fall foliage on a bright blue background; same appreciation for the scenery of autumn runs. Still blogging, e-mailing other runners, exchanging stories and motivation.

It’s like I’ve settled into the cycle of life.

In many ways, I needed 2 years of “settling”; after all I’d become a half marathoner and vegan that fall. I might be doing the same things this November that I was in November of 2013, but they’re A LOT different than what I was doing in November of 2012.

Where will I be in 2017?

Where were you in 2013, and where are you now? Where are you going?

  1. In November 2013, I ran three 5Ks and thought I was pretty fierce. This November, I ran a 12K up in the hills and am training for my 6th HM in December.

Lately I’ve been contemplating the idea that maybe I’d like to run a full marathon in 2016. Kelly, just this morning, I re-read your post “Thinking of running your first marathon? Ask yourself these questions first.”

I also took an Active.com quiz on “What distance should you run?” My results? Full marathon.

    Hmmmm…..

    1. This isn’t the first time you’ve mentioned the idea of a full… I’ll be interested to see what you decide!!!
